Brick Calculator
Estimate how many bricks a wall needs from its net area, brick face dimensions and mortar-joint thickness, then add a visible waste allowance.
How brick quantity is estimated
The calculator uses the visible brick face plus the mortar joint to estimate coverage, then adds a 5% planning allowance. Use the actual brick dimensions supplied for your project because brick sizes vary.
Bricks ≈ wall area ÷ ((brick length + joint) × (brick height + joint))Before you order
Subtract large doors and windows from the wall area first. Bond pattern, cuts, breakage and site conditions can change the final quantity, so treat the result as a material estimate rather than a laying plan.
